The CMP Full Form in GST is Composition. It is the GST Composition Scheme is a guarantee-based program that is designed to ease the burden of compliance of small taxpayers scattered across the country. It is a new initiative under Goods and Services Tax (GST) law, which allows companies that are eligible to avail of reduced GST rates, while also having to submit fewer tax returns as in comparison to the normal procedure for GST. The relief program is designed to alleviate small-sized businesses of taxes and compliance obligations particularly small-scale businesses which are looking to reduce the effects of COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligibility and Registration:

This policy applies to all companies with an annual revenue of at least Rs. 1.5 crore. For hill states and northeastern states the threshold is set at Rs. 75 lakh. Filling out GST CMP-02 Form, the businesses that are eligible must be registered, at least before the start of the financial year the purpose of which the scheme was designed. Registered businesses have certain limitations. They are not permitted to offer any non-taxable products, take part in interstate transaction, and sell through the online marketplace.
